GSM and 3G UMTS: Mobile and industrial solutions
New Lightning MultiCom GSM and UMTS products are available for industrial applications. Such applications include mobile access as well as telemetry and teleaction in different fields.

GSM UMTS

GSM is 2nd generation of mobile phones/data-cards, with GPRS support in most countries allowing for permanent and faster links.

UMTS is 3G (3rd generation) of mobile phones/data-cards allowing even faster data troughput and inovative applications. 

Lightning designs new generation industrial products based on these international standards, tailored at specific needs and including a wealth of features:

  • TCP/IP connectivity
  • Support of GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS
  • Remote manageability and applications updates
  • Advanced encryption schemes
  • Customer applications integration

For now, only non-publicly available industrial products provides such functions.
