The minor software relase 2.6.1 now work with active FTP, to support old FTP programs which cannot be configured to passive/firewall mode (like theDOS FTP).

This allows to use FTP transparently through the SecureWall, with no special configuration. Of course, passive FTP (which is used by Netscape and Internet Explorer) is still supported ...

A few additional features include:

  • A simple RIP advertiser, for automatic failure recovery in some setups with redundancy (contact us if you need more details).
  • The Firewall can now filter port *ranges* and traffic to and from the router itself, which simplifies the setup of complex rules and adds security for the configuration.
