The Multicom Firmware 3.1 does not support custom Syslog messages. These are the Syslog messages generated from the filtering commands, often using customized text to describe the message. Other Syslog messages are still generated showing the status of the MultiCom Firewall, PPPoE and DHCP activity.

The 2 workarounds are:
  • If you have an Ethernet II you can downgrade to firmware version 3.0.1 or earlier
  • If you have an Ethernet II, III, or SpeedSurf, install firmware version 3.2 or later which will reinstate this functionality
