If rebooting your router solves the problem then the following explanation probably applies to you.
When it is activated the DHCP server of the router gives IP addresses to the workstations on your LAN, the IP addresses are chosen from a Range (by default : DHCP range 10.0.0.0 .. 10.255.255.255 add) and are allocated for a defined period of time (by default : " DHCP LeasedTime 12"/time given in minutes).
Once an IP address has been given, the DHCP server cannot re-allocate it before the leased time has expired (unless : you reboot the router which flushes the DHCP table). Therefore using very long lease time can lead to a shortage of available addresses and ( the DHCP server cannot respond anymore to ARP requests from network hosts //// OR simply said) the DHCP server can no longer respond to requests for IP addresses on the LAN.
We advice that you use" DHCP LeasedTime 12" in the configuration file of the router. |
